Beset as we are with fire, pandemic, and social and political turmoil, we know that what carries us through is our connection to other people. We also know that music, among other things, makes that bond tangible: Heart and art.

The Little Village Foundation, a unique, non-profit record company dedicated to shining a light on artists who might not otherwise be visible, decided to do something about that, and gathered together a number of singer-songwriters to record the CD 20 x20 (out Nov. 19th ), a Thanksgiving-time present that helps us cherish our common humanity in this weird year.

Then they started talking with their friends at Berkeley’s legendary Freight and Salvage music hall. Together they’ll present a majority of the 20 x 20 artists featuring Aireene Espiritu, Alabama Mike, Genesis Fermin, Ira Marlowe, and Jim Bruno performing at the Freight on the Sunday after Thanksgiving, November 29th, at 4 pm Pacific time, streaming on a number of different platforms. Just go to www.thefreight.org/stream.

20 x 20 is a big, rich stack of creativity, and will ease the stress of 2020, we promise. Seeing is believing, and on the 29th you’ll be glad to see the music as well.
