ARTISTS PERFORMING:

Mary Flower

Guitarist, singer and songwriter Mary Flower is that rare breed of American roots artist. Her devotion to the art form is both lovingly and historically accurate, yet her creativity lends it vitality and energy that it might continue, evolve and flourish.

Saida Dahir

A Muslim Somali refugee living in Salt Lake City, Saida Dahir’s poetry reflects her life experience as a Somali refugee on an array of topics including gun violence and her decision to wear a hijab. This collection of poems was recorded on the eve of her high school graduation as she continues on in the fall at UC Berkeley.

Skip The Needle

Born from a group of friends jamming. Shelley Doty – guitar, Kofy Brown – drums, Katie Colpitts – guitar and Vicki Randle (the Tonight Show, Mavis Staples) bass. If Sly Stone, Jimi Hendrix, Chrissie Hynde and Chaka cloned a baby, this band would be the result. Skip the Needle is reckless, eclectic, fearless and fun, dedicated to love, and like nothing you’ve ever heard before.

Anai Adina (Anai Morales)

Singer/Violinist Anai Morales is a High School senior from Delano, Ca. and is a member of Mariachi Mestizo, a youth ensemble that has performed at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass (SF). Enriching Lives Through Music (ELM) is a Latino youth symphonic orchestra from San Raphael, CA.
