Taking over the Porch and Arrow stages, Pugh\u2019s nonprofit record label brought Wee Willie Walker, Aireene Espiritu, Mariachi Mestizo, John Blues Boyd and Aki Kumar.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou guys ready for some blues? You guys ready for some Bollywood?\u201d Kumar asked from the Arrow Stage. \u201cWell, you came to the right place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Bombay-born singer and harmonica player who melds his passion for American blues and love for his homeland\u2019s Bollywood tunes, got the crowd stomping and singing along with catchy songs like \u201cBadan Pe Sitaare,\u201d \u201cJaanu Meri Jaan\u201d and the ever-so-fun \u201cEeena Meena Deeka.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cNow who out there knows what the heck I was saying?\u201d he said, with a laugh.<br \/>\nJudging by the applause Kumar received, it didn\u2019t matter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Luna Soleil dances with a hula hoop during the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass music festival in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, California, on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016.)
